In Latin America and the Caribbean, 36 elections will be held between 2021 and 2024. Meanwhile, there is a growing trend of election mis/disinformation, in which inaccurate information is widely disseminated on social media platforms, often provoking contentious debate and instilling voter scepticism and distrust, posing a challenge to Latin American and Caribbean democracies.
